Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELCA)
Women interested in fellowship and service are invited to join either the morning or evening group.
Rebekah/Ruth Circle meets at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in the Parish Hall (except for July and August). Each meeting includes a Bible study and discussion followed by a short business meeting. This group meets every Tuesday morning in January, February and March to sew. They make blankets that go to Lutheran World Relief, lap robes that go to local nursing homes, and baby blankets for donation to the FISH (food pantry) in Williamsburg.
Lydia Circle meets at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of every month in the Parish Hall, (except for July and August). Each meeting includes a devotion and discussion, followed by a short business meeting. This group participates in a variety of service activities in the local community.
Both groups come together three times a year on the first Monday of May, September and December at 7 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Joint programs, a devotion, fellowship and coffee and dessert are the highlights of these gatherings.
The Casserole Caravan is a joint ministry of both Circles. Organized in September 2006, we come together on the third Saturday of every month in the Parish Hall's kitchen to make a casseroles and to package the piping hot food in containers for delivery to Our Saviour's home-bound in time for lunch. The Casserole Caravan is partially underwritten by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
